September Monthly Reflection
Choose Love. Resist Temptation. Walk in Purpose. Release Control.
As we come to the end of September, take a moment to pause and reflect on the journey God has brought you through this month.
Our weekly messages may have focused on different areas of our lives, but each one carried the same underlying invitation:
Trust God. Keep moving forward. And never give up.
This month, we were reminded that love is a choice, not just a feeling. We learned that genuine love requires patience, kindness, forgiveness, grace, and intentionality. There will be people and situations that challenge our ability to love, but God calls us to respond differently. We don’t have to allow someone else’s actions to determine the condition of our hearts.
Choose love anyway.
We were also reminded about overcoming temptation. Temptation will come, but we do not have to surrender to it. God provides strength, wisdom, and a way of escape. Sometimes overcoming temptation means changing our surroundings. Sometimes it means setting boundaries. Sometimes it means simply saying, “No.”
Remember:
You are not powerless against what is trying to pull you away from God.
Then we turned our attention toward walking in our purpose. God has placed gifts, abilities, experiences, and opportunities within each of us. Your journey may not look like someone else’s, and that’s okay. Purpose does not always unfold all at once.
Sometimes God simply asks us to take the next step.
Don’t allow comparison, fear, disappointment, or uncertainty to convince you that you have missed your purpose. If God gave you the assignment, He will provide what you need for the journey.
Finally, we were challenged to let go of control.
This may be one of the hardest lessons of all.
We often want answers before we trust. We want the destination before we take the first step. We want to know how everything will work out before we surrender it to God.
But faith says:
“God, I don’t know what the future holds, but I know You hold the future.”
Letting go doesn’t mean giving up.
It means giving it to God.
Never Give Up
Perhaps this is the whisper you need to carry with you beyond September:
Don’t give up.
Don’t give up because the answer hasn’t come yet.
Don’t give up because the door hasn’t opened.
Don’t give up because you made a mistake.
Don’t give up because you experienced disappointment.
Don’t give up because your journey looks different from everyone else’s.
Don’t give up because you’re tired.
There will be moments when you question whether you are making progress. There will be days when your faith feels stronger than others. There may even be seasons when you wonder if God is listening.
Keep going.
A delayed answer does not mean God has forgotten you.
A difficult season does not mean your story is over.
A setback does not mean you have been defeated.
A closed door does not mean there isn’t another door God will open.
Sometimes God is doing His deepest work in us while we are waiting for Him to change what is around us.
So keep praying.
Keep believing.
Keep serving.
Keep loving.
Keep walking.
Keep trusting.
And most importantly, keep your eyes on God.
What September Taught Us
Love taught us:
Choose love even when it isn’t easy.
Temptation taught us:
You can say no and choose obedience.
Purpose taught us:
You don’t have to see the whole road to take the next step.
Surrender taught us:
You don’t have to control everything when you trust the One who does.
And perseverance reminds us:
You haven’t come this far to quit now.
God has brought you through too much for you to believe that this is where your story ends.
There is still purpose ahead.
There is still growth ahead.
There are still prayers that will be answered.
There are still doors that will open.
There are still people whose lives will be touched by your obedience.
There is still more that God wants to do in and through you.
A Word of Encouragement
If September has taught us anything, it is that faith is not always about having all the answers.
Sometimes faith is simply taking another step.
Sometimes faith is getting up after falling.
Sometimes faith is forgiving again.
Sometimes faith is walking away from temptation.
Sometimes faith is pursuing your purpose when nobody else understands.
Sometimes faith is releasing something you’ve held onto for far too long.
And sometimes faith is waking up tomorrow and saying:
“Lord, I’m still here. I’m still trusting You. I’m not giving up.”
You may not be where you want to be yet, but thank God you are not where you used to be.
Celebrate the progress.
Learn from the setbacks.
Trust God with the process.
And keep moving forward.
Your story is still being written.
Don’t let one difficult chapter convince you that the entire story is bad.
Don’t let one failure convince you that you are a failure.
Don’t let one disappointment make you abandon your dreams.
Don’t let one season make you question God’s faithfulness.
Keep going.
God is not finished with you.
September’s Final Whisper
As we close September and prepare to enter a new month, carry these words with you:
Choose love.
Resist temptation.
Walk in your purpose.
Release control.
Trust God.
And never, ever give up.
You may have to cry and keep going.
You may have to wait and keep going.
You may have to start over and keep going.
You may have to walk by faith and keep going.
But whatever you do—
KEEP GOING.
Because the same God who carried you through yesterday is already present in your tomorrow.
Your journey isn’t over.
Your purpose isn’t over.
Your story isn’t over.
And as long as God continues to give you breath, there is still another opportunity to trust Him, follow Him, and walk boldly into what He has prepared for you.
Whisper of the Month
“Do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
Keep the faith. Keep your heart open. Keep walking. Keep trusting.
And whatever you do—never give up.
Closing Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for carrying us through another month. Thank You for every lesson, every challenge, every victory, and even every difficult moment that helped us grow.
As we move forward, help us choose love, resist temptation, walk boldly in our purpose, and release the things we cannot control.
When we become tired, renew our strength.
When we become discouraged, remind us of how far You have already brought us.
When we stumble, help us get back up.
When we are uncertain, remind us that You are still in control.
And when we are tempted to give up, whisper to our hearts:
“Keep going. I am not finished with you yet.”
Give us the courage to keep believing, the strength to keep praying, and the faith to keep moving forward.
We surrender our past, our present, and our future into Your hands.
